Do you live in the area of Savannah, Lower Valley or Breakers? Thinking about renting a post office box? Why not rent a box at the Bodden Town Post Office?
The Bodden Town Post Office is situated just two and half miles from the top of Hirst Road (Savannah/Newlands) and just four miles from Breakers. There are 400 boxes available at that post office. The staff is friendly, there is easy access to parking, and, best of all, renters have 24-hour access to their box.
Plans are being finalized for the Post Office in Savannah. When ready, Postmaster General Sheena Glasgow said she expects the boxes to be rented very quickly. "Meanwhile, boxes are available at the Bodden Town Post Office," she said.
Another plus - the Cayman Islands Postal Services has added or is in the process of adding several value-added services, and come Saturday, 7 October, all post offices will be open on Saturdays.
Customers can pay their CUC and Cable & Wireless bills, garbage fees. And in a couple of weeks eastern district customers can pay their Water Authority bills. Customers can also top up their Digicel and Cable & Wireless mobile phones and purchase a Cable & Wireless pay-as-you-go phone. The Postal Service also collects CINICO insurance premiums for Cayman Brac resident only.
"We want customers to realise that the Postal Service is joining the global trend in that we are making post offices about more than just selling stamps even though mail will always remain our core service," Ms Glasgow said.
