Sending Mail Overseas
All CIPS mail is surface airlifted. We are dependent on the airlines to move your mail. Therefore, postal customers should bear this in mind as our mail may be influenced by factors affecting air travel.
Security restrictions don’t allow CIPS to give out flight numbers or times that a particular piece of mail will leave the Cayman Islands.
In order to comply with international security requirements, any item weighing over 16 oz or packaged in such a way that the CIPS officer accepting it cannot readily determine that it contains only documents (packed in a mailing tube, box, etc), must be inspected prior to acceptance. Please bring such items to the counter unsealed. Once inspected, the officer will provide packing tape to allow you to seal it.
Please know the list of prohibited items of the country that you are sending mail to.
