Regional Advisor for the Universal Postal Union, Herbert Niles recently met with Acting Postmaster General, Sheena Glasgow to discuss a postal services plan for Cayman.

"I have a strong sense of where I'd like to see the Cayman Islands Postal Service in the future. The input Mr. Niles provided during his trip has been extremely useful in helping me fine-tune a development plan for the post office," comments Ms. Glasgow. She adds that the main focus of the plan is to enhance overall service. "So far, several areas where we'd like to improve have been identified and we have already begun working toward them," she concludes.

Accompanied by Ms. Glasgow, Mr. Niles paid an official visit to the Minister for Planning, Communications, Works and Information Technology (PCW&IT) Hon. Linford Pierson, OBE, JP, and Permanent Secretary for that ministry, Kearney Gomez. During the meeting they discussed postal policy issues, postal regulations, and the coming Caribbean Postal Union Conference which will be held in Grand Cayman this May. Mr. Niles concluded his five-day visit on Saturday 8 February.
