Mail from the United Kingdom dating back to 11 April and mail from the United States dating back to 24 April has arrived in Grand Cayman and postal staff are working diligently to sort it.

In both cases, mail that is normally sent directly to Grand Cayman was routed through Jamaica. "It's their choice how they route our mail to us and they've started to send it through Jamaica," comments Acting Postmaster General Sheena Glasgow. She adds that the UK and US postal administrations have been contacted about the delivery hold-up caused when routing mail through Jamaica. We're working with them to try to minimise these delays in the future."

Staff at the Postal Services Department appreciate the public's patience while this backlog is being sorted.
