Stockings are not the only things that are overflowing this Christmas - the post office boxes at the General Post Office in George Town are also overflowing.

The Cayman Islands Postal Service is requesting that post box renters clear their boxes on a daily basis.

Customers are reminded to bring photo identification with them, or, if they are unable to pick up their mail themselves, they can send a representative. CIPS will release the mail to an addressee's representative as long as the designated person has the addressee's written permission, including the name of the person who will collect the mail. A copy of the addressee's ID must be attached to the letter, and the representative will be asked to show his or her own ID when collecting the parcel.

Remember, post offices are open on Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on Grand Cayman. Please note that Customs is closed at 12 noon on Saturdays. Cayman Brac's Saturday post office hours are 9 to 11.30 a.m., and Little Cayman's are 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
